Viitaniemen Ratsutila – Riding school and farm house

Viitaniemi estate is an idylic farm house and riding centre only 30 km away from Tampere city centre and 20 km away from Orivesi centre. The estate situates in the middle of quiet Viitapohja village, far away from all hustle and rush of the town.

Countryside riding and horse experiences

Lessons at countryside

Riding lessons are given around the year at the big, renewed riding yard outside arena and also at riding hall. Lessons are available for all levels of riders, beginners to advanced. Viitaniemi estate caters for everyone from a beginner to advanced riders. The more accurate lesson schedule is available at the address www.hopoti.com/stable/viitaniemenratsutila. Additionally to the regular lessons the private, couple (two riders) and group lessons are given at separately agreed times. Riding lessons cost from 35€/person up.

Riding trips

Riding trips at countryside are available to everybody who is interested in horses and want to feel the countryside peace at wonderful landscape. We will start first at stables to getting familiar with horses, grooming and saddling. When the horses are saddled, we will go to the riding yard or hall there we go through necessary rules and basic skills that are needed when riding at the countryside.

During the riding trip we will ride peacefully according to the less experienced rider at the group.

The age limit for the countryside trips is 11 years. Younger children may have carriage rides for extra cost.

After the trip we groom the horses first and then we will have delicious coffee with Finnish bun.

The riding trip will take totally about 2,5 hours. For safety reasons only max. 5 riders are allowed to attend the riding trip at countryside.

The riding experience may be enhanced much with comfortable clothing, shoes with heels eg. rubber boots and gloves. You may borrow the riding helmet from us. Prices from 120€ + 35€/person up.

Carriage rides, and also sledge rides according to amount of snow

Come and enjoy the tranquil countryside at horse carriage or at sledge during winter and snow season. We will start together by getting familiar with the horse and after harnessing the horse we will go and admire the magnificent scenery of Viitapohja from the carriage/sledge.

After the ride we will enjoy delicious coffee with Finnish bun.

The carriage ride will take totally about 1,5 hours. The carriage will take only 2-4 persons depending the sizes of the persons. All ages are allowed at the carriage rides.

Remember to put enough warm clothes on, there it might get chilly when sitting on the carriage/sledge. Prices from 50€+10€/person up.
